A Happier Path Awaits
About Karen
My take on counseling
I seek to hear you, to see the true you, and to understand you. I offer my expertise in navigating difficult life changes, coping with the stress of daily life, and overcoming obstacles, whatever they may be. I listen and help you explore your ideas. I view you as the expert of your own life, but act as a guide to help you reflect on where you want to go and how you can get there. Once your counseling goals are clear, I help hold you accountable to meeting those goals and creating the life you want to live.
Thank you for being here
I grew up visiting Colorado and knew early on I wanted to live here. I moved to Denver in 2003 and love this state. When I am not counseling, I balance my time between family, friends, and staying active through outdoor adventures, regular workouts, and hunting down unique coffee shops wherever I can find them. I love my work and getting to know the clients who seek out my help.
My professional background
Education
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado with over 20 years of experience. I earned my Masters of Arts degree in Professional Counseling at Lindenwood University in the St. Louis metro area before heading west to the California coast to begin my professional career. I am committed to keeping up to date on recent advances in the field and am engaged in ongoing career development training.
Counseling Experience
As a counselor in Colorado since 2004 I have counseled adults age 18 and up with work- related stress, relationship issues, women’s issues, depression and anxiety. I have also helped individuals with severe and persistent mental illness throughout my career.

I believe in holding safe space for you to explore your own thoughts and feelings while together we work to find your path forward. I individualize my counseling approach to meet your specific needs but am well versed in cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, DBT, ACT, and person-centered therapy.
